ALF Shipping (Private) Limited has a proud legacy rooted in the maritime history of Sri Lanka. Our origins can be traced back to Fort Shipping Ltd, the oldest offshore ship manning company in the country, established in 1981. Fort Shipping Ltd played a pioneering role in the recruitment and deployment of skilled Sri Lankan seafarers, primarily for Gas Tankers and Reefer Cargo Vessels.

As global demand for Sri Lankan crew increased, Reefer Operators required a dedicated agency based in Sri Lanka to manage the growing scale and complexity of their manning operations. This marked a significant turning point, leading to the establishment of ALF Shipping (Private) Limited in 1997, specifically to meet these emerging industry needs and to continue the tradition of excellence in maritime crew management.

Mrs. A. Silva, has been part of this legacy since 1984, beginning her career with Fort Shipping Ltd. Today, she serves as the Managing Director of ALF Shipping, bringing decades of experience, leadership, and industry insight to the company. Joining her in leadership is Mrs. Ediriweera, Director – Personnel, who has been with the company since 1993, playing a key role in operations and crew management. Together, their combined expertise and dedication have positioned ALF Shipping as a trusted name in the international shipping community, known for its commitment to professionalism, compliance, and the highest standards of service.
